What does a Marcos-Therapist do?
The first consultation begins with an introducing conversation
A Marcos-therapist first wants to hear what your complaint or problem is. What is it about? What problem are you presenting to him? What is your help question? A Marcos-therapist will always ask you about your experience, because that determines what you do with your energy or strength. He will ask questions like; How does the situation/problem make you feel? What thoughts do you have about it? How do you think about it? What are the concequences for you? What obstacles do you encounter?
An examination
A Marcos-therapist does a general orientating examination in which he might use muscle tests. Next he will form a notion of the source of your problem or your complaint. Here the Marcos-therapist might use therapeutic conversation techniques and/or muscle tests.
A therapeutic conversation
In a therapeutic conversation the Marcos-therapist will give you insight into your actual deeper problem, load or pain. When that link is there he will search with you for the behaviour and way of thinking you acquired with it.
Treatment
Treatment takes place through a therapeutic conversation technique and, if necessary, through treatment of the body. For example, joints, muscles, acupuncture points, and scars are treated, nutricion advise is given, herbal products might be recommended, and feelings are ‘touched’ and lived through. The therapeutic conversation as well as the physical treatment, or the used herbs are directed towards finding the actual deeper problem.
Homework
A Marcos-therapist explains what you yourself can do about your problem. He gives advise on how to go about with yourself in your daily life. He will try to make you think differently about your problem, and to make you take different paths than you are used to.
Learn to use your own strength (again)
A Marcos-therapist is imbued with the fact that his treatment is not decisive, but that it is your own dedication to do something about yourself, your problem and your life. It is not an easy road. You will acknowledge yourself and come to make choices and take actions that will influence your thinking, behaviour, and life style. So your willingness to act upon it is crucial for gaining results.
